Welcome to Centr.

​

Your privacy matters deeply to us, and this policy is meant to be readable, not buried in legalese. It explains what information we collect, why, how it's stored and protected, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have over your data.

This Privacy Policy applies to centrtheapp.com, the Centr mobile app, the web-based poll and planning links we generate, and any related services (together, "Centr" or the "Service"). It is operated by Find Your Center LLC ("we," "us," or "our").

By using Centr or signing up for early access, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please don't use the Service.

1. The Short Version

 

A quick plain-language summary. The rest of this policy is the detail behind it.

  • We collect the basics you give us (name, email, and — if you choose — phone number), plus the things you create in the app (friends, plans, notes, reminders, reflections) and standard usage data.

  • We use it to run Centr: help you remember the people who matter, plan time together, and reflect on how it went.

  • We store your identifying details (name, email, phone) linked to an internal unique identifier, and your activity and plans are tied to that identifier rather than to your name. This makes it possible to analyze behavior in a de-identified way and to clean out personal details when we need to.

  • We do not sell or rent your identifiable personal information. We don't sell your phone number, email, or a behavioral profile of you to anyone.

  • You can access, correct, or delete your data at any time by emailing hello@centrtheapp.com.

2. What Information We Collect

​

A. Information you give us

  • Account and contact details: name, email address, and phone number (phone is optional unless you use a feature that requires it, like SMS reminders).

  • Profile and onboarding answers: quiz responses, social goals, and the preferences you set during onboarding (these also help us suggest a notification style that fits you).

  • Your content in the app: friends and contacts you add, notes and reminders you store (for example, birthdays, preferences, "ask how the interview went"), plans you create, poll responses, logged hangouts, and post-plan check-ins (including how an activity left you feeling).

  • Contacts you choose to import: if you add friends by importing contacts, we collect the names and phone numbers (and any other details, such as birthdays) of the people you choose to import, so you can find and add them. See Section 5 for how we handle information about people who aren't Centr users.

  • Event and waitlist details: when you join the early-access waitlist or give us your information at an in-person event, we collect your name, email, phone number (if provided), and the source (which event or campaign).

  • Communications with us: messages, feedback, survey responses, and support requests.


B. Information we collect automatically

When you use the app or visit our website, we automatically collect:

  • Device information (model, operating system, app version) and a device or installation identifier

  • IP address and general (city/region-level) location derived from it

  • Usage and interaction events inside the app (screens viewed, features used, plans created, buttons tapped)

  • For the website: browser type, pages visited, time on page, referral source, and cookie/analytics data


We collect this through tools like Google Firebase and Google Analytics (see Section 6).

 

C. Information we do not intentionally collect

 

We don't collect special-category or sensitive data (such as health, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, precise GPS location, or financial account numbers) unless you choose to put it into a free-text note. Please don't store sensitive information about yourself or others in your notes.

3. How We Structure and Protect Your Data (De-identification)

​

We've designed Centr so that your personal details and your behavior are kept structurally separate.

  • Your identifying information — name, email, and phone number — is stored in a single secure record and associated with an internal unique identifier.

  • Your plans, activity, and behavioral data reference that unique identifier, not your name. So the part of our system that analyzes how the app is used doesn't need to know who you are.

  • This lets us de-identify data before running any broader behavioral analysis, and makes it straightforward to clean or remove personal details when needed.

 

As of the date of this policy, we are not running behavioral analytics on top of your identifiable personal information. If we do run such analysis in the future, we will de-identify the data first so it can't reasonably be tied back to you.

 

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and stored on secure infrastructure (primarily Google Firebase / Google Cloud). We use access controls and modern security standards. No system is ever 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit who can see it.

4. Plan and Poll Links, and People Who Aren't on Centr

​

One of the most useful things Centr does is let you make a plan or poll and share a link so friends can weigh in or pick a time — even if they don't have the app. Because of how that works, there are a few things you should know.

  • These links don't require an account. Anyone who has the link can open it and respond. We recommend only sharing plan/poll links with the specific people you intend to invite, and not posting them publicly.

  • What we collect from non-users: when someone without a Centr account responds to a link, we collect the name they enter and, if the feature asks for it and they provide it, a phone number. We create an internal record for that person, flagged as not registered, tied to a unique identifier (the same structure described in Section 3).

  • Why we collect a non-user's phone number: only to record their response and, if they provide it, to send reminders or updates about that specific plan. When a phone number is requested, we show a clear notice that by entering it the person agrees to receive text messages about that plan.

  • We do not use a non-user's phone number for marketing, add them to other campaigns, share it, or sell it.

 

If you're a non-user who responded to a Centr link and want your information removed, email hello@centrtheapp.com and we'll delete it.

5. Why We Collect and Use Your Information

​

We use the information described above to:

  • Provide and operate Centr's core features — remembering the moments that matter, planning and coordinating time with friends, sending reminders, and post-plan check-ins

  • Match availability and improve scheduling (time zones, overlap logic)

  • Personalize your experience, including the type and frequency of notifications

  • Send you service messages, onboarding, reminders, and content you've opted into

  • Generate aggregated, de-identified insights to understand how Centr is used and make it better (for example, how many people in a given age range attend a type of event). These insights can't identify you, and we may share them with partners or collaborators in de-identified, aggregated form only.

  • Provide customer support and respond to your requests

  • Keep Centr safe — detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security issues

  • Comply with legal obligations

 

Legal bases (for users in the EU/UK). Where this applies, we process your information based on: your consent (e.g., calendar sync, SMS, marketing); performance of a contract (to provide the Service you signed up for); our legitimate interests (to operate, secure, and improve Centr in ways that don't override your rights); and legal obligations.​

6. Google Services, Analytics, and Advertising

​

Centr uses Google services — including Firebase (hosting, authentication, push notifications, crash and usage analytics) and Google Analytics — to run and improve the app and website.

 

When you use a site or app that uses Google services, certain information (such as your device identifiers, IP address, and usage events) is shared with Google. Google describes how it uses this information in "How

Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services," available at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. We encourage you to read it.

 

A few important clarifications for Centr specifically:

  • We do not show third-party ads inside Centr, and we do not use Google's advertising or ad-personalization features to target you. Google's partner-sites page covers advertising broadly; the ad-personalization parts of it are not how we use Google in the app. We use Google primarily for infrastructure, analytics, and reliability.

  • You can control some of this collection yourself — for example, through your device's ad and privacy settings, your Google account's My Activity and Ad Settings, and the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on for the website.

7. Who We Share Information With

​

We do not sell or rent your identifiable personal information. We share it only in these situations:

  • With your direction or consent — for example, when you sync your calendar, share a plan link, or send an invite.

  • With service providers who help us run Centr, under contracts that limit them to providing services to us. These currently include:

    • Google / Firebase — hosting, authentication, push notifications, analytics (policy)

    • Customer.io — email, SMS, and push message delivery and lifecycle messaging; we share details such as your name, email, phone (if provided), and certain activity so the right message reaches you (policy)

    • Calendar providers you connect (Google, Apple, Microsoft Outlook) — to read free/busy availability and create events/invites you ask us to

    • Apple TestFlight — if you're in our beta, the app is distributed through Apple's TestFlight, subject to Apple's terms and privacy practices

    • Our website and forms are hosted on Wix, which processes website and waitlist data on our behalf (policy)

  • In aggregated, de-identified form that cannot identify you (see Section 5).

  • For legal reasons — to comply with the law, respond to valid legal requests, or protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or Centr.

  • In a business transfer — if Centr is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. This is different from selling data: in an acquisition, the new owner receives the information and is bound by commitments at least as protective as this policy. We'll notify you of any such change and your choices.

8. How We Communicate With You, and Your Messaging Choices

​

We may contact you through:

  • Email — service notices, onboarding, content you've opted into, and occasional updates

  • Push notifications — reminders and nudges in the app (you control these in your device settings)

  • Text messages (SMS) — only where you've opted in: for example event reminders, certain "WIP" perks, and plan reminders for people who entered a phone number on a plan link

 

SMS consent and opt-out. When you provide a phone number for text messages, you agree to receive texts related to the relevant feature or plan. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, or reply HELP for help. We do not sell SMS opt-in data, and we don't share your phone number for others' marketing.

 

Email opt-out. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. Rather than fully unsubscribing, you can also choose which categories you want (for example birthday reminders, event reminders, or tips on being a better friend) in your settings.

 

Some essential messages (security, privacy, or account notices) may still be sent even if you opt out of marketing.

9. Cookies and Tracking on Our Website

​

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies (including through Wix and Google Analytics) to keep the site working, understand visitor trends, remember preferences, and measure marketing campaigns.

 

You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Third-party tools we use have their own privacy policies. The Centr app relies on the SDKs and analytics described above rather than website cookies.

10. Data Retention

​

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within the retention period, except where we need to keep certain records to comply with the law, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. Aggregated, de-identified data that can't identify you may be kept.

11. Your Rights and Choices

​

You have control over your information. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you

  • Correct inaccurate information

  • Delete your account and personal information

  • Withdraw consent (for example, disconnect calendar sync or stop SMS)

  • Opt out of marketing messages

  • Object to or restrict certain processing, and request a portable copy of your data (EU/UK)

 

For California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know, delete, and correct your personal information, and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we don't use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We won't discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

 

To make any request, email hello@centrtheapp.com. We'll verify your request and respond within 30 days (or as required by applicable law). People who responded to a Centr link without an account can request deletion the same way.

12. Children's Privacy

​

Centr is intended for adults. The Service is not directed to anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from people under that age. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact hello@centrtheapp.com and we'll delete it.

13. International Users and Data Transfers

​

Centr is operated from the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the U.S. If you access Centr from outside the U.S., you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

14. Beta / Early Access

​

While Centr is in beta (including via Apple TestFlight), some features may be incomplete or change, and the data practices in this policy may evolve as the product develops. We'll keep this policy current as that happens.

15. Changes to This Policy

​

We may update this policy as Centr evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we'll give additional notice by email or in-app. Changes take effect when posted.
